Palm Cuff Bracelets | New Fashion Accessory

What are these fabulous bracelets we’re seeing all over the place and where did they come from?  These lovely gems are popping up all over TV, Social Media and in Magazines and everywhere in between.  Palm Bracelets are lovely and unique and of course not for everyone!  There seems to be a common undertone that these little embellishments are obtrusive, and depending upon the elaboration of the bracelet that is very possible.  However with any adornment, it should be utilized for the occasion.  These bracelets are made with indentations on the bottom to form to the palm and are actually quite comfortable to wear.  In general they’re less intrusive than a wrist bracelet sliding up and down the arm if loosely fit.

If you love jewelry, they’re for you – going in line with midi rings and arm parties it seems the last sensible addition!  They are best served cold and alone however matched with a ring or two or possibly a matching wrist bracelet.  Simply put these are an eloquent statement expressing freedom in style and love of fashion.

Palm Bracelets or Palm Cuffs as they are sometimes referred to actually are nothing new!  Nothing new you say?  The Dacian Bracelets, concerned with the Dacians, a distinct sect of the Thracians (SPARTACUS – there it’s said) used to use bracelets for everything from status symbols and insignia for military to votive offerings and even as currency!  The Dacian Bracelets often were bangle style, several extended onto and around the palm.

There are murmurs that the modern day concept was developed based around the Eurasian love of Worry or prayer style beads, used in the region mostly by men and generally wrapped around the palm.  The first Palm Bracelets seemed to emerge as a simple fitting set of beads worn around the palm mimicking the wrapped worry beads.  Elaboration. taking off as it does, we’ve come to the more distinct and beautiful designs available today.

Give them a try before making too hastily a decision, they are fun, unique and quite frankly a beautiful addition to any jewelry box!
